ERIE, Pa. - The Frostburg State women's tennis team defeated Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Penn State Behrend, 4-5, and improved its conference record to 2-0 on the season, Friday.
Freshmen
Elly Dannenfelser (Joppa, Md./John Carroll) and
Megan Martin (Richmond, Va./Mills Goodwin) each picked up two individual wins in the victory for the Bobcats (3-1). The duo won against Arica Christman and Steph Cattron in the number one doubles competition with a score of 9-7, capturing the one doubles win for FSU that day.
Dannenfelser second win came against Christman in the No. 1 singles match (5-7. 6-2, 6-1) while Martin defeated Hilary Lasher in the fourth singles competition for her second victory (6-4, 6-3).
In the number three singles match, senior
Caroline Shedd (Middletown, Md./Middletown) won against Leslie Durante with scores of 6-4, 6-4 and sophomore
Jannill Sites (Waynesboro, Pa./James Buchanan) defeated Allison Quigtey (6-4, 6-3) for the Bobcats final win of the day.
