FROSTBURG, Md. – Sophomore
Trevor Conner (Dharhan, Saudi Arabia/Kent School) was named to the 2009 American Baseball Coaches Association Rawlings Mid-Atlantic All-Region third team, Monday.
Conner helped the Bobcats to a 25-16 overall record, a second-place regular-season finish in the AMCC and a berth in the 2009 ECAC South Regional Tournament.
Conner, a First Team All-AMCC selection, led all FSU pitchers with a 1.72 ERA and a dismal opponent batting average of .221 in 57.2 innings of work. Conner left his mark in the FSU single-season record books for winning percentage (.889), earning the second position after posting an 8-1 overall record. Those eight wins also move him into a tie for sixth place overall in the single season records, while his ERA will hold the seventh spot all-time.
Conner, a third team honoree, is the first FSU player to be named to an ABCA regional since Billye Hollister was named the ABCA Mid-Atlantic Pitcher of the Year and recieved first team honors in 2006.
