GREENSBURG, Pa. - Despite another homerun from sophomore

Samantha Quirin (Lovettsville, Va./Loudoun Valley), the Frostburg State softball team dropped game one to Pitt-Greensburg 6-4 while game two was suspended in a 7-7 deadlock due to darkness in AMCC action, Monday afternoon.
Game two was halted between the seventh and eighth innings and will be finished at a date that has yet to be determined.
In the opener, Pitt-Greensburg (11-8, 6-1) broke a 1-1 tie with a five-run fourth inning for a 6-1 lead. The next two batters, Kelly Welsh and Taylor Kimmell, each had RBI singles in the middle part of the frame while Jennifer Dempsey scored the final two runs on a single towards the end of the inning as the hosts moved ahead 6-1.
Frostburg State (15-6, 4-1) plated three in the top of the seventh, including a two-run homerun from Tapman, but the final two batters grounded out as UPG captured the victory.
