FROSTBURG, Md. - The La Roche College men's basketball team had all five starters score in double figures on its way to a 75-69 AMCC victory over Frostburg State, Monday evening in the final game of 2009 for both teams.

Jamal Bracken (Baltimore, Md./Eastern Tech) hit a pair of free throws at 4:16 to bring the hosts within one point, 61-60, but La Roche hit a pair of threes and a layup to extend its lead back to eight (69-61) at 2:39.
Bracken again brought the Bobcats to within three points, 71-68, with 1:33 to play but the Redhawks made four free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
Bobcat junior #Busha Koffa3 (Germantown, Md./Seneca Valley) posted a double-double and led all players with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Bracken and junior
Terrance Taylor (Oxon Hill, Md./Cornerstone Christian) each added 12 points. Sophomore
Bradley Nunn (Ft. Washington, Md./Riverdale Baptist) came off the bench to add eight.
Nate Wojciechowski led LAR with 19 points, seven boards and five assists. Dylan Grazier scored 12 points followed by Mike Williams with 11.
Frostburg State shot 51.0 percent (26-of-51) from the floor but La Roche used eight three-pointers and a 75-69 rebounding advantage to earn the win. It's the first time this season that the Bobcats have shot over 50.0 percent in a game and lost.
The lead changed twice in the opening half and the Redhawks surged out to an eight-point lead, 24-16, with 12:21 to play. La Roche later took a 10-point lead (30-20) at 5:34, but the Bobcats used a 12-3 spurt to trail by just one (33-32) with 1:10 to play in the first. Grazier made a layup and a free throw with 26 seconds left to hand the visitors a 36-32 lead the break.
Frostburg State resumes play on January 2 when it travels to D'Youville at 3:00 pm.
