Mercedes White (Bowie, Md./Bowie) added 12 as the Frostburg State women's basketball team ran away from Mt. Aloysius for an 81-65 victory in AMCC action, Wednesday night.

The Bobcats (4-1, 2-0) broke open the game mid-way through the first half. With the Mounties (0-4, 0-1) leading by one, 13-12, with 10:27 to play in the opening period, freshman Stephanie Straka (Jerome, Pa./Conemaugh Township) hit back-to-back layups to give FSU the lead for good. The Bobcats outscored Mt. Aloysius 20-11 over the remainder of the first half for a 38-24 lead at halftime.
Frostburg State didn't let off the gas in the second period using the first 10 minutes of the half to open its largest lead 67-39 with 9:31 to play. Mt. Aloysius collected an 11-2 run over the game's final 2:13 to bring the score to 81-65 at the horn.
FSU shot 47.1 percent (33-of-70) from the field and limited MTA to just 37.5 percent (24-of-64). The Bobcats scored 29 points off 23 Mountie turnovers and dominated the paint inside, leading 44-14.
James finished 8-of-11 from the field with eight rebounds. Junior
Lisa Byer (Johnstown, Pa./Conemaugh (Allegany College)) came off the bench to score nine points while freshman
Brynn Arnone (Keedysville, Md./Boonsboro) had seven points and eight boards.
Kaylee Keagy poured in a game-high 18 points and eight rebounds in the loss for Mt. Aloysius
Frostburg State returns to action on Friday, Dec. 4 when it travels to Salisbury, Md. to take on College of New Jersey at 6:00 pm.
