NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Frostburg State University freshman kicker
Zachary Beukers (Lusby, Md./Calvert) captured the Atlantic Central Football Conference Rookie of the Week award after his performance in FSU's 34-19 loss to Salisbury in the 11th Annual Regents' Cup Game on Saturday.
Beukers booted a pair of first-half field goals, the second time this season he has kicked two in a game. He kicked a 20-yarder to cap the game's opening drive and hand the Bobcats an early 3-0 lead. He ended the first half with his second field goal, a 24-yard shot that brought FSU to within one point at halftime 13-12. Beukers also had four kickoffs for a total of 212 yards, a 53.0 yard per attempt average.

Mike Iheakanwa (Lantham, Md./Duval) was named to the league's honor roll on the defensive side of the ball. Against the Sea Gulls, Iheakanwa made six tackles and returned a fumble 61 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter.
Frostburg State finished the 2009 season with a 1-9 overall record and a 1-2 ACFC mark.
