BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Senior Gwen Massey (Thorofare, N.J./West Deptford) captured 14th place as the men's and women's cross country teams competed at the NCAA Division III Regionals to wrap up their seasons, Saturday. The women captured 12th place for the best team finish since 1999.

The women's squad finished with 360 points, which is 100 points better than last year when it posted 460 points at the regional meet.

Allegheny captured first for the men with 59 points while John Hopkins finished first for the women with 109 points.

Massey was the highest finisher for the Bobcats when she crossed the line in 14th place with a time of 22:31.9. Sophomore Anne Patron (Baltimore, Md./Dulaney) placed 22nd with a time of 22:45.6. Last season, Massey finished 127th (25:32) while Patron placed 43rd (23:57).

Freshman Lydia Valenta (Frostburg, Md. / Homeschool) captured 88th (24:13.1) while senior Christina Aumand (Chesapeake Beach, Md./Huntingtown) finished 108th with a time of 24:37.2.

Rounding out the top six for the Bobcat women were junior Jessica O'Neil (Mechanicsville, Md./Chopticon) and freshman Christyna McCormick (Ellicot City, Md./Marriotts Ridge). O'Neil placed 128th (24:51.0) and McCormick captured 253rd with a time of 28:21.8.

Leading the Bobcat men's squad to its 38th place finish was sophomore Gavin Caupp (Frostburg, Md./Mt. Ridge), who captured 180th with a time of 28:44.4.

Sophomore Jesse Henderson (Taneytown, Md. / Francis Scott Key) finished 186th (28:50.0) while junior Kevin Wright (Silver Spring, Md./Oakton) crossed the line in 208th place with a time of 29:19.7.

Finishing in 233rd place for FSU was sophomore Nick Weddle (Baltimore, Md./Northeast) with a time of 29:55.3. Senior Dustin Eagle (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) and sophomores Calvin Shriver (Westminster, Md./Francis Scott Key) and Max Maier (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg Area Senior) rounded out the runners for the Frostburg State men's squad. Eagle finished 255th (30:39.7) while Shriver and Mair placed 261st (31:01.9) and 268th (32:01.8) respectively.
