GIBSONIA, Pa. - Frostburg State University seniors
Sean Jones (Pasadena, Md./Severna Park) and
Ricky Marchant (Rockville, Md./Walter Johnson) and sophomore
Jamie Flewellyn (Arnold, Md./Broadneck) earned All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference First Teams honors after helping the Bobcats to their eighth-straight AMCC Tournament semifinal appearance. Junior
Raul Diaz (Clarksburg, Md./Damascus) was the fourth Bobcat all-conference selection, earning honorable mention honors.
Jones, a three-time All-AMCC honoree, earned his second-straight first team selection. Jones led the team in assists (6) and finished fourth in points (16) and fifth in goals (5). He was tied for eighth in the conference in points per game (1.00). Jones is just the eighth player in school history to earn back-to-back All-AMCC first teams honors.
Marchant, a second-team all-conference honoree in 2008, tied for the team lead with seven goals, good for eighth in the AMCC as well. He also finished tied for second on the team in points (16) with Jones.
Flewellyn started 20 games and helped an FSU defense that held opponents to a 1.32 goals against average. He also scored three goals on the season from his defensive position.
Diaz, in his first year with the Bobcats, handed out three assists in 19 games this fall.
FSU has totaled 69 all-conference selections in 13 season in the AMCC.
The Bobcats ended the 2009 season with a 12-7-1 overall record and a 7-3 AMCC mark. FSU won eight of its final nine games, outscoring opponents 37-9 during that stretch.
