GIBSONA, Pa. - The Frostburg State women's tennis team placed seven individuals on the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference All-Conference tennis team. Freshman
Megan Martin (Richmond, Va./Mills Goodwin) came away with Newcomer of the Year honors for the season.

Elly Dannenfelser (Joppa, Md./John Carroll) earned All-AMCC first team honors after picking up the number one doubles championship title. The duo defeated Penn State Behrend's Arica Christman and Stephanie Cattron with a score of 8-2 in the finals. Martin and Dannenfelser finished the year 12-1 overall and 9-0 in the AMCC in doubles play.
Dannenfelser earned second-team All-AMCC honors after finishing runner-up in the number one singles competition after dropping the championship match to Penn State Behrend's Christman. Dannenfelset finished her singles match action 16-4 overall and 8-1 in AMCC competition. Martin also received All-AMCC second team honors after finishing runner-up in the number four singles match, dropping the final match to Christy Calvert from Penn State Behrend. Martin captured Newcomer of the Year honors after she capped an undefeated conference season (17-3, 9-0) at number 4 singles with a runner-up finish at the AMCC championship.

Jannill Sites (Waynesboro, Pa./James Buchanan) received first team All-AMCC honors after capturing the number three doubles championship crown by defeating Karen Hobaugh and Allison Quigley from Penn State Behrend.

Caroline Shedd (Middletown, Md./Middletown) earned second team honors for her performance in the number three singles flight dropping the final match to Penn State Behrend's Hillary Lasher, while senior
Liz Coblentz (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) earned second team honors after capturing runner-up in the number five singles match losing to Penn State Behrend's Leslie Durante. Shedd finished the year 8-8 and 7-2 in the AMCC while Coblentz came away with a 12-3 overall record and 7-1 in the AMCC. Sites earned second team honors after dropping the championship match to Penn State Behrend's Karen Hobaugh in the number six singles match.

Vicky Stafford (Lee, N.H./Oyster River) received second team all-conference honors for the number two doubles competition. Shedd and Stafford captured the win over Penn State Altoona's Emily Knott and Michelle Harrison (8-3) in the second round but fell to Penn State Behrend's Hillary Lasher and Leslie Durantein the finals (9-8 (4)). Shedd and Stafford came away with a 8-7 overall record and 5-2 in AMCC doubles action.
The team finished in second place at the AMCC Championships and completed the season with a 12-4 overall record and a conference record of 9-1.
