ASTON, Pa. - Lauren Hood netted the game's only goal in the 61st minute to lift Neumann to a 1-0 shutout of Frostburg State in field hockey, Sunday afternoon.

The loss is the third-straight for the Bobcats, who sit at 7-10 overall. Neumann improved to 8-7 with its second consecutive win.
FSU freshman keeper
Maggie Edwards (Lebanon, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional) kept her team in the game in the first half stopping seven of the Knights 11 shots. She finished the game with 10 saves.
Each team attempted six shots in the second half and Neumann was able to find the net at 60:30 for the game winner. Hood scored off an assist from Melissa Malick.
Neumann goalkeeper Maggie Carpenter made nine saves, including five in the second half to keep the Bobcats off the board.
Frostburg State junior
Brooke Tapman (Salisbury, Md./Pocomoke) attempted a team-high five of the squads 13 shots.
Frostburg State returns to the field at the 2009 Independent Tournament at Wilson College on Oct. 31.
