St. Mary's City, Md. - The Frostburg State women's volleyball team swept through the St. Mary's College quad match Saturday defeating Neumann College and St. Mary's college 3-0 in each match and Stevenson College 3-1.
The Bobcats are now 25-4 on the season with a six-game winning streak. FSU beat Neumann college in three games with scores of 28-25, 25-13 and 25-18. Frostburg State swept St. Mary's College in three games with scores of 25-13, 25-17 and 25-13. The Bobcats finished the day beating Stevenson College in four games (26-24, 25-9, 23-25, 25-21).
Junior
Sarah Stephens (Oakland, Md./Southern Garrett) turned in an excellent performance with 46 kills, seven digs and two blocks over the three matches.
Senior
Brooke Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) posted a combined 37 kills, four blocks, nine digs and two assists in the three matches while senior
Chelsea Wassell (Westernport, Md./Southern Garrett) put up 17 kills, four blocks, and one assist of her own.
Junior
Jamie Thomas (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) contributed 14 kills, five assists, 11 digs, and four blocks in the effort for the Bobcats. Sophomore
Sabrina Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) helped FSU with four kills, five blocks and three digs of her own, while classmate
Amber Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) added eight digs. Senior
Caryn Wright (Baltimore, Md./Western Tech) had one kill for the Bobcats.
Sophomore
Kylie Carrington (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) rounded out the box score for the Bobcats with three kills, 126 assists, two blocks and nine digs.
The Bobcats are back on the court against AMCC opponent La Roche in Pittsburg, Pa. on October 27 at 7:00 pm.
