GLASSBORO, N.J. – Ashely Adams and Lauren Ross each scored two goals as the No. 8 Rowan field hockey team defeated Frostburg State, 7-0, on Saturday evening.

RU (11-4) led in shots (20-17) while FSU (7-9) held the advantage in penalty corners (11-4).
The Profs opened scoring in the first 24 seconds of the game when Ross netted an unassisted goal off a rebound, 1-0. Just over five minutes later, Jenna Lombardo fed Julie Cairone a pass which Cairone knocked in the net to give RU a two-point advantage over the Bobcats, 2-0.
At 14:33, Nicole Valianti dribbled around the goalie and to score an unassisted goal while just over three minutes later Ross netted her second goal of the game off an assist from Laura DiMenna, 4-0.
Ashley Adams found the back off the cage on an unassisted goal at 23:21 and a little over five minutes later Adams found Bailey Van Jura in front of the cage who knocked the ball in to give the Profs a 6-0 lead over the Bobcats which it would carry into the break.
The score would remain the same until the 51:30 mark when Adams netted her second goal of the game off an assist from DiMenna to give the end score, 7-0.
FSU goalkeeper
Maggie Edwards (Lebanon, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional) posted seven saves in the loss while Lisa Apt earned the win for Rowan and split time in goal with Jen Goldberg who posted three saves.
Junior
Brooke Tapman (Pocomoke, Md./Pocomoke) led Frostburg State in shots with six while sophomores
Brandi Mixell (Fort Littleton, Pa./Forbes Road) and freshman
Chelsea Smith (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) each recorded three.
FSU returns to action tomorrow October 25 at Neumann College for a 3:00 pm match.
