BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Frostburg State volleyball team held on to first place in the AMCC with its 13th shutout of the season, this time a 3-0 sweep of D'Youville, Saturday afternoon.
The win handed head coach Peter Letourneau his 101st victory at the helm of the program, breaking the previous mark of 100 held by Jeff Billington (2001-04).
Frostburg State (21-4, 6-0) gave Letourneau the win behind scores of 25-18, 25-23, 25-19.
Sophomore
Kylie Carrington (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) recorded 18 assists, three digs, one service ace and one block in the win for the Bobcats. Senior
Brooke Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) led the Bobcats in kills with 12 and classmate
Chelsea Wassell (Westernport, Md./Southern Garrett) posted eight. Winterling also had had three digs and one service ace while Wassell had three blocks.
Junior
Jamie Thomas (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) had six digs, two blocks, one kill and one service ace while classmate
Sarah Stephens (Oakland, Md./Southern Garrett) added nine kills, four digs and two blocks.
Sophomore
Amber Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) chipped in nine service aces and five digs. Junior
Brittany McVearry (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) posted four service aces and three digs.
The Bobcats will take on AMCC opponent Mt. Aloysius at home on October 21 at 7:00 pm on senior night.
