BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Frostburg State volleyball team improved its game-winning streak to seven after sweeping Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Medaille and non-conference opponent Morrisville State, 3-0, on Saturday.
After the two wins, the Bobcats have an overall record of 18-2 and are 1-0 in the conference.
Frostburg State defeated Medaille with scores of 25-16, 25-17 and 25-6 for its first victory on the day.
Sophomore
Rachel Burke (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) led the squad with 14 digs and six service aces. Junior
Brooke Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) smashed 12 kills while sophomore
Jamie Thomas (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) had seven. Winterling also posted six digs and two service aces and Thomas chipped in six digs, three assists and two blocks.
Freshman
Kylie Carrington (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) led the Bobcats with 24 assists and sophomore
Sarah Stephens (Oakland, Md. /Southern Garrett) had four digs and three service aces. Freshman
Sabrina Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) posted two blocks in the victory.
The Bobcats overcame Morrisville State with game scores of 25-10, 25-17 and 25-11.
Winterling filled up the box score posting 15 kills, seven digs, three blocks and three service aces. Carrington led FSU in assists, handing out 26 and Burke led with ten digs. Carrington also chipped in three service aces while Burke had two.
Sabrina Winterling added three blocks in the win while Stephens had six kills and six digs.
The Bobcats return to action at home in Bobcat Arena on October 1st against Goucher at 7:30 pm.
