CARLISE, Pa. - The Frostburg State volleyball team pushed its winning streak to five matches with a pair of shutouts over Dickinson and Elmira, Saturday.
FSU is now 16-2 on the season with 12 shutout victories as its took care of the Red Devils by scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-19 and the Soaring Eagles by scores of 25-8, 29-27 and 25-15.
Junior
Brooke Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) posted her 15th double-digit kill effort of the season totaling 24 kills on the day, 12 against each opponent. She also had a total of 17 digs including 10 in the second match.
Freshman
Kylie Carrington (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) led the Bobcats in assists handing out 32 and 28, respectively, while sophomore
Rachel Burke (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) had 20 digs. Carrington also chipped in five digs, four kills, two aces and one block.
Sophomore
Jamie Thomas (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) had a busy day with 30 digs, 17 kills, three assists, three aces and one block. Classmate
Sarah Stephens (Oakland, Md./Southern Garrett) had 16 kills, 14 digs and two aces in the pair of victories.
Freshman
Margie Maresca (Prince Frederick, Md./Huntingtown) added 11 kills and two blocks and fellow freshman
Sabrina Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) had nine kills and four blocks.
The Bobcats are off for a week before opening AMCC action with a tri-match at Medaille next Saturday.
