WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Frostburg State volleyball team swept Catholic University with game scores of 25-19, 25-11 and 25-18 on Wednesday evening.
Frostburg State (13-2) was led by junior
Brooke Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) who filled up the box score with 19 kills, five digs, three blocks and one service ace. Sophomore
Sarah Stephens (Oakland, Md. /Southern Garrett) chipped in six kills, three service aces, three digs and one block.
Freshman
Kylie Carrington (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) led the Bobcats with 24 assists while sophomore
Bekah Litz (Edgewater, Md./South River) had ten. Litz also had six digs and Carrington added one block and one kill.
Sophomore
Rachel Burke (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) had ten digs while freshmen
Sabrina Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) and
Margie Maresca (Prince Frederick, Md./Huntingtown) each added two blocks. Sabrina Winterling also chipped in five kills and Maresca had three.
Sophomore
Brittany McVearry (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) had six digs and three services aces to aid in the victory over the Cardinals.
The Bobcats return to action at the Dickinson Invitational at Dickinson on Friday September 19th against Marymount at 5:00 pm.
