WAYNESBURG, Pa. - The Frostburg State volleyball team defeated Waynesburg University, 3-0 on Wednesday evening giving the team an overall record of 9-1.
Frostburg State picked up its victory against the Yellow Jackets by scores of 25-19, 25-20 and 25-22.
Freshman
Kylie Carrington (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) led the Bobcats with 32 assists while sophomore
Sarah Stephens (Oakland, Md. /Southern Garrett) led in kills with 11. Stephens also had nine digs and three blocks.
In service aces, junior
Brooke Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) led the team with five and sophomore
Rachel Burke (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) had three. Burke also led the squad with 13 digs while Winterling had nine kills and one block.
Freshman
Alex Coleman (Derwood, Md./Magruder) had four blocks while sophomore
Jamie Thomas (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) had three. Thomas also chipped in six kills and four digs.
Junior
Chelsea Wassell (Westernport, Md./Southern Garrett) had six kills and one block to aid in the win.
The Bobcats return to action at the Ducks Classic at Stevens Tech on Friday September 12th against Gallaudet at 4:00 pm.
