ERIE, Pa.- The Frostburg State men's tennis team fell to Alfred, 7-2, and Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Penn State Behrend, 7-2, on Saturday.
FSU is now 0-9 on the season and 0-1 in the AMCC. Juniors
Greg Shedd (Middletown, Md./Middletown), Jeff Leskey (Elmira, N.Y./Elmira) and senior
Matt Chisholm (La Plata, Md./La Plata) all took home wins on the day.
Shedd defeated Alfred's Connor Houghton in the first singles match of the day with scores of 3-6, 6-1, 7-6 (10). Lesky won against AU's Rob Festa in the No. 6 singles match (6-2, 6-2).
In the first doubles match, Shedd and Chisholm lost in a hard fought match to Schneider and Kwiecien, 8-6.
Against Penn State Behrend, Shedd picked up another singles win in the first match against Miles Boyea, defeating him with scores of 6-3, 6-7, 7-6, and 10-8.
FSU's other win against the Lions came in the No. 1 doubles match when Shedd and Chisholm won against PSB's Boyea and Jim Palmer (8-4).
FSU is back in action at home on April 1 against AMCC opponent Penn State Altoona at 3:00 pm.
