WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Frostburg State baseball team dropped its third consecutive game with a loss to Washington and Jefferson on Thursday at Ross Memorial Park by a score of 5-0.
President’s (7-4) pitcher Mitch McClay improved his record to 3-0 on the season as he recorded five strikeouts, while allowing only two hits in 5.0 innings of work. The Bobcats would only record four hits on the afternoon.
W&J put two runs on the board in both the third and forth innings against FSU (3-7) junior starter Kyle Timme (Pasadena, Md./Mt. St. Joseph’s). Timme allowed the fours runs on only six hits in 4.0 innings.
The scoring would conclude when Washington and Jefferson leadoff man Justin Benson scored on a wild pitch by Bobcat sophomore reliever Joe Garrity (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch).
Frostburg State returns to action on Saturday, March 29 when they host Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Lake Erie for a double-header at 1:00 pm.
