HAMBURG, N.Y. – Freshman
Elizabeth Carrington (Clinton, Md./Oxon Hill) scored a team-high 19 points and the Frostburg State defense held Hilbert to just seven baskets in each half as the Bobcats earned their third-straight win with a 61-44 decision over the Hawks, Saturday.

FSU (8-15, 5-11) held the hosts to just 30.4 percent (14-of-46) from the floor and allowed just three Hawk players to make a basket. The Bobcats led 30-27 at the half, but Carrington scored 13 of her points in the second half and Frostburg State scored 17 points off turnovers in the period to earn the victory.
Carrington also added five rebounds, five steals and four assists while sophomore
Shanell Williams (Baltimore, Md./Woodlawn) scored 10 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Sophomore
Sidra Bing (Columbia, Md./Catholic of Baltimore) chipped in eight scores and freshman
Mercedes White (Bowie, Md./Bowie) had seven points and seven boards.
FSU had 18 steals and forced the Hawks (0-23, 0-16) into 26 turnovers. The Bobcats led 48-44 in rebounds including a 23-12 edge on the offensive glass.
Amanda McHale led all players with 22 points and 18 rebounds and she made eight of the Hawks 14 baskets in the game. Kaitlyn Miller added 14 points on five baskets while Courtney DeVille had the only other basket for Hilbert on the afternoon.
Despite their struggles from the field, the Hawks led the Bobcats by 10 points (21-11) with 7:33 left in the opening half. Frostburg State would take the lead late in the first with a 17-5 run over the final 6:42.
FSU slowly added to its cushion in the second and Carrington made her final basket of the game with 37 seconds left as Frostburg State led by 20 (61-41). Miller ended the game's scoring with a three-pointer with 21 seconds left.
The Bobcats are back on the court on Wednesday at Mt. Aloysius at 6:00 pm.
