ASHLAND, Va. – Frostburg State sophomore
Brian Anderson (Perry Hall, Md./Eastern Tech) collected 2008 R-MC Coaches Classic All-Tournament honors for his stellar performance during the tournament, Tuesday.
Anderson helped FSU to a 1-1 record and an 87-81 victory over Lebanon Valley in the consolation game of the classic on Tuesday evening.
In the victory over LVC, Anderson scored a career and tournament-high 31 points on 10-of-14 shooting (71.4%). He also added five three-pointers (5-of-8), a perfect 6-of-6 slate from the foul line and seven rebounds. It was the second time this season that Anderson has set a career best in scoring.
In an opening round loss to Randolph Macon, Anderson scored four points and had three assists.
Anderson leads the Bobcats in scoring (13.0 ppg), three-pointers (22) and free throws (20) this season and has reached double-digit scoring in five contests.
Frostburg State returns to action on Wednesday, January 7 when it travels to AMCC opponent Franciscan at 8:00 pm.
