FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State women's soccer team used three first-half goals in a 4-0 victory over Medaille in the semi-final round of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference playoffs.

The win advances the Bobcats (14-2-2) to the AMCC championship game against Penn State Altoona to be played on Saturday, November 8. PSA defeated Penn State Behrend in the other semi-final contest, 1-0.

Sophomore Heather Fleishell (Middletown, Pa./Middletown) put FSU ahead as she scored on a header after a perfect corner kick from senior Tricia Richardson (Gibson Island, Md./St. Mary's) just 4:25 into the game.

Frostburg State's offensive attack did not relent as the Bobcats found the goal two more times in the opening half. Sophomore Kierstin Stevenson (Frostburg, Md./Beall) scored in the 35th minute and junior Lauren Lentine (Princeton, N.J./WPP North) found the net just four minutes later off a Stevenson assist for the 3-0 advantage at halftime.

Freshman Erin Ford (Waldorf, Md./Westlake) topped off the scoring at 80:53 as she found the net on an assist from classmate Jessica Kraemer (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall).

The FSU defense held tough for the entire game as Medaille was outshot in the contest 22-6. Maverick (12-9) keeper Mattea Haessner was busy all afternoon as she recorded seven saves and faced 11 shots on goal.
