ALTOONA, Pa. – Whitney Hough scored the games only goal in the 26th minutes to lift Penn state Altoona to a 1-0 win over Frostburg State in AMCC women’s soccer action, Tuesday.
Both squads came into the conference matchup ranked in the region. The Bobcats (10-2-2, 5-1) entered the contest ranked No. 9 in the Great Lakes region and suffered just their second loss since their season opening loss to St. Mary’s 1-0.
Meanwhile, PSA (13-0-1, 5-0-1) is ranked sixth in the region and earned its first win over FSU in nine previous meetings. Frostburg State leads the all-time series 8-1 and has outscored the Lions 41-2.
Despite being outshot in the opening stanza 4-3, PSA’s Hough netted the game-winning goal midway through the first.

Stephanie Gwinn (Ijamsville, Md./Urbana) stopped two shots in the loss for the Bobcats and allowed her first goal in the last four games. Lindsay Raspanti earned the win for Lions making two saves, both in the first half.
FSU returns to action on Saturday, October 18 when it hosts AMCC opponent Penn State Behrend at 1:00 pm.
