FROSTBURG, Md. - Juniors
Christine Fitzgerald (Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg) and
Lauren Lentine (Princeton, N.J./WWP North) each scored a goal as the Frostburg State women's soccer team shutout Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Hilbert 2-0, Saturday.
The Bobcats have won four-straight games and are 10-1-2 overall on the season and remain undefeated in the AMCC at 5-0. FSU has now outscored its five AMCC opponents this season by a combined 16-0.
Fitzgerald scored her third goal of the season just shy of midway through the first half to put Frostburg State on the board 1-0. Sophomore
Kierstin Stevenson (Frostburg, Md./Beall) hit a low pass from the left side of the 18-yard box that Fitzgerald one-timed into the back of the net.
Lentine, fresh off her two assist effort in the Bobcats' 2-0 win over Division II Shepherd, scored her fourth goal of the season off a pass from sophomore
Lauren Russell (Waldorf, Md./Westlake) as FSU assumed a 2-0 lead in the second half.
Junior
Stephanie Gwinn (Ijamsville, Md./Urbana) played 80 minutes in net for FSU making one save while freshman
Kristin Prochniak (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) played the final 10 minutes between the pipes.
The Bobcats will take their undefeated conference record to Penn State Altoona this Tuesday for a 5:00 pm showdown. The Lions are the only other AMCC team without a conference loss this season (3-0-1).
