HAMBURG, N.Y. — Hilbert’s Dallas Reinard dropped 30 points on the way to defeating the Frostburg State men’s basketball team, 87-73, Tuesday evening in the first round of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Tournament.

With the loss, FSU (11-15, 9-9) ends it’s season on a five-game losing streak while HC (14-12, 9-9) moves onto the semifinals and will face Lake Erie, Saturday evening.

Reinard shot 11-of-14 (.786) overall and 4-of-5 (.800) on three-pointers, while also grabbing nine rebounds and dishing out six assists. Noah McHale and Michael Reyes also scored in double figures for the Hawks, recording 22 and 12 points, respectively.

The Bobcats had two players score in double digits, with senior Jade Belt (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall) leading the way with 15 points and eight rebounds. Junior Antione McCall (Essex, Md./Eastern Tech) chipped in with 14 points, seven rebounds, two assists and one block.

In the opening minutes of the first half, FSU held it’s largest lead 10-5, at 15:05 before later taking a 15-14 lead with 11:59 left in the first half. After a made free throw by HC, McHale hit a jumper to give the Hawks a 17-15 lead with 10:24 left.

From that point on, Hilbert wouldn’t look back, extending it’s lead to 10 points, 25-15, with 8:44 left in the period. The two teams would go into the intermission with the score 44-36, in favor of the Hawks.

Both teams shot 50 percent on three pointers in the first half, (HC with 4-of-8 and FSU with 3-of-6) while Hilbert shot 54.8 percent (17-of-31) overall and Frostburg State went 15-of-32 (46.9%) from the floor.

The second half proved to be more of the same, with the Hawks extending their lead to at least 20 points or more, fourteen times.

Their largest lead came with 4:03 to play, when Glen Ufland sank a pair of free throws to put HC up 27 points, 85-58.
