FSU avenged its only loss of the regular season on the wings of sophomore Brooke Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) who had 22 kills on the night to lead all scorers.

In game one, both teams traded four-point scoring runs with Lake Erie jumping out to early advantages of 9-6 and 14-10. The Bobcats would trade points until a six-point streak bringing the score to 18-15, evaporating the final lead the Storm would see. Winterling would take over the game, scoring four-straight points until freshman Sarah Stephens (Oakland, Md./Southern Garrett) slammed home the game winner to give FSU a 1-0 advantage.

In game two, the Storm started strong jumping out to an early advantage only for the Bobcats to fight back to a 14-14 tie. Again, FSU would go on a six point streak to pull away from Lake Erie. Katie Yanesh would lead the final comeback attempt for LEC getting as close as 29-28 only to fall short with FSU taking the 2-0 advantage. Yanesh would finish the night with 11 kills.

The final game of the match would be completely dominated by the Bobcats who would jump out to a 10-2 lead behind sophomore Jennifer Stiffler (Elkridge, Md./Long Reach) who would finish the night with five blocks. Lake Erie would make a five-point run in an attempt to force a fourth game only to be turned away by a four-point spurt by FSU making the score 22-18. The comeback was not to be with Frostburg State winning the game 30-24 to move into Saturday's championship game against No. 3 seed Penn State Altoona.

For FSU, freshman duo Jamie Thomas (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) and Rachel Burke (Laurel, Md./Reservoir ) would both record over 19 digs on the evening; Thomas would finish with 23 and Burke 20. Junior Jenny Wheaton (Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge) would lead in assists with 41 on the night.

In the second match of the night, Penn State Altoona would defeat Penn State Behrend 3-0 by scores of 30-28, 30-24, 30-23. PSA would be led by sophomore Lauren Carter who ended the night with 19 kills and six blocks. The Lions also benefited from 47 assists by sophomore Lisa Byars.

Penn State Behrend kept the games close but were not able to break through the PSA defense who got stronger as the match wore-on.
