FSU ends the season 2-7 overall and 0-4 ACFC while SU finishes 9-1 overall and 3-1 in the ACFC. The Sea Gulls will now wait for a possible Pool B or C bid into the NCAA Tournament.

Junior Kevin Tillage won the Mike McGlinchey Most Outstanding Player Award for SU after hauling in two passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns. Senior tailback Shanorm Young (Baltimore, Md./Polytech) won the award for Frostburg State after running 21 times for 94 yards and a touchdown.

Salisbury outgained Frostburg State in total yards 448-300 including a 269-161 advantage on the ground and a 179-139 lead through the air.

Despite the total yards and score, the two teams combined for nine fumbles including four in the third. SU lost three of those fumbles but Frostburg State was unable to capitalize on any of them. SU made up for the turnovers by converting a pair of Bobcat interceptions into two scoring drives, 79 and 80 yards.

Frostburg State held Salisbury on downs on its first possessin and the Bobcats then countered with a 75-yard 14-play drive that Young finished off with a three-yard scoring run. The drive was the longest of the game by either team as it lasted 6:51.

SU answered with its first scoring drive on the ensuing drive as it covered 46 yards in eight plays. Quarterback Ronnie Curley scooted in from a yard out but the extra point attempt failed and FSU still led 7-6.

The Bobcats put together another solid drive on their second possession making their way down to the Sea Gull six before a Salisbury interception in the endzone killed the scoring opportunity.

The Sea Gulls moved ahead 13-7 when Kevin Tillage hauled in a 36-yard touchdown pass from Curley at the 12:15 mark in the second quarter. SU used seven plays to cover 80 yards on the scoring drive.

After a fumble on its fourth possession, Salisbury’s Valdase Morris added to the lead with an eight-yard run for a 20-7 edge that ended a 67-yard nine-play drive.

The third quarter was sloppy on both sides as each squad fumbled twice while Salisbury lost two and FSU one.

Frostburg State turned the ball over for the second time on the second play of the fourth quarter when Darryl Jones intercepted a pass at the Sea Gull four-yard line and brought the ball out to the Salisbury 21. On the next play, Curley connected with Tillage for a 79-yard touchdown when a FSU defender slipped and fell down deep in the secondary. Curley then hooked up with Morris for the two-point conversion as the Sea Gulls led 28-7.

Jamar Garner ended the scoring for the Sea Gulls with a one-yard tourchdown with 4:53 left in the game.

Senior Quarterback Andre Dixon (Washington, D.C./Roosevelt) tacked on the final seven points for FSU with just 1:45 left with a two-yard scoring run.
