GREENSBURG, Pa. - The Frostburg State volleyball team remained undefeated in AMCC action with a 3-0 sweep of Pitt-Greensburg, Tuesday evening. Game scores were 30-21, 30-12 and 30-7.
FSU is now 17-9 overall on the season and moved into a tie for first place in the AMCC with Penn State Altoona. Both schools have a perfect 6-0 mark in the league.
Offensively, junior
Jenny Wheaton (Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge) had 24 assists and freshman
Sarah Stephens (Oakland, Md./Southern Garrett) had nine kills to pace FSU in the win. Wheaton also had eight digs while Stephens had three service aces.
Freshman
Jamie Thomas (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) had the most complete match for Frostburg State with seven kills, seven digs and a pair of service aces. Classmate
Rachel Burke (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) posted team-highs in both digs (9) and aces (7).
Sophomores
Brooke Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) and
Jennifer Stiffler (Elkridge, Md./Long Reach) each chipped in six kills in the match.
Frostburg State travels to Lake Erie this Saturday for a match at 1:00 pm.
