FROSTBURG, Md. - Junior
Michelle Frost (Jessup, Md./Hammond) scored two of Frostburg State University's four first-half goals en route to a 4-2 defeat of Virginia Wesleyan, Sunday at Bobcat Stadium.
Frost is now third on the Bobcats (7-5) in scoring with six goals on the season. Sophomore
Kelly Filipowicz (Elkridge, Md./Long Reach) and freshman
Brooke Tapman (Salisbury, Md./Pocomoke) each scored a goal and an assist. Tapman leads the team in both categories while Filipowicz is second in goals.
FSU struck first as Frost's first goal came just 1:01 into action off a penalty corner taken by Filipowicz.
KC Marchwicki scored the first goal for the Marlins (3-10) 8:27 into the game to tie it at 1-1.
The Bobcats put the game away from there netting three-straight goals for a 4-1 edge. Filipowicz scored an unassisted goal a minute after VWC tied the game and Frost scored her second of the contest at 14:41 as the Bobcats led 3-1. Frost's second goal also came off a penalty corner, this time off a feed from Tapman.
Tapman closed out the first-half scoring with a break away goal at 29:11.
Katie Melzac scored the Marlins second goal in the 56th minute to end the game scoring.

Amanda Runion (Leonardtown, Md./Leonardtown) made two saves in the game as the Bobcats outshot the Marlins 18-10. Virghinia Wesleyan held the edge in penalty corners, 10-8, with six coming in the second half.
Frostburg State will host St. Vincent on Thursday, October 18 at 7:00 pm .
