WASHINGTON, D.C. — Frostburg State fought through three games but ended up on the losing side of a 3-0 defeat to Catholic, Tuesday evening at the DuFour Center.
CUA won by scores of 30-24, 30-28 and 30-22 to improve to 9-9 overall while FSU falls to 6-11.
Freshman Brooke Winterling (Glenelg, Md./Glenelg) posted her fourth-straight double-double with 16 kills and 14 digs. She also tossed in five blocks.
Freshman Chelsea Wassell (Westernport, Md./Southern Garrett) was second on the team with eights kills and 11 digs while sophomore Caryn Wright (Pikesville, Md./Western Tech) had five kills and seven blocks.
Senior Amanda Hernandez (Crofton, Md./Arundel) had 31 digs and six blocks and sophomore Jenny Wheaton (Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge) had 14 digs and five service aces.
FSU returns to action on Saturday, September 30 when it hosts a tri-match with Hilbert and Goucher starting at 11:00 am.
