FAIRMONT, W. Va. - The Frostburg State men’s tennis team beat NCAA Division II Fairmont State, 6-3, Sunday afternoon.
The Bobcats even their record at 3-3 overall on the season .
At the No. 3 singles spot, sophomore Matt Chisholm (La Plata, Md./La Plata) beat Mark Vincent 7-6, 6-1 while junior Chris Schoenbauer (Riva, Md./South River) downed Justin Bryant 6-4, 6-0 in No. 4 singles.
Freshman Fabian Uribe (Elgin, Ill./Elgin) won No. 5 singles over Drew Waitkus (6-1, 6-0) and junior Andrew Thomas (La Plata, Md./Thomas Stone) captured the No. 6 singles title with a forfeit victory.
In No. 2 doubles action, Uribe and freshman Gregg Shedd (Middletown, Md./Middletown) beat Vincent and Bryant 8-1 and Schoenbauer and Tom Wetzel recorded a forfeit victory in No. 3 doubles.
FSU returns to action on Wednesday, April 5 when it travels to Dickinson for a match at 3:00 pm.
