ERIE, Pa. - The Frostburg State men’s tennis team fell to Penn State Behrend and Alfred, Saturday afternoon. Both matches ended in 7-2 losses.
The Bobcats are 2-3 overall and 1-2 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.
Against PSB, freshman Gregg Shedd (Middletown, Md./Middletown) captured the only Bobcat victory in singles action defeating Garrett Grenek 6-0, 6-4, in the No 2. spot. Shedd teamed with classmate Fabian Uribe (Elgin, Ill./Elgin) to beat Jim Palmer and Trevor Dougherty, 8-5, in No. 2 doubles.
In the loss to Alfred, sophomore Andy Chisholm (Pylesville, Md./North Harford) earned a victory at No. 1 singles after downing Steve Ventura, 6-0, 6-2.
In No. 3 doubles, senior Matt Quinn (Mechanicsville, Md./Chopticon) and junior Chris Schoenbauer (Riva, Md./South River) were victorious over Alex Webley and Tini Pzuyn, 8-6.
FSU returns to action tomorrow when they take on NCAA Division II Fairmont State at 3:00 pm.
