SALISBURY, MD — Senior Erin McCarthy scored five goals to lead Salisbury to a 24-2 victory over the Frostburg State women’s lacrosse team Saturday afternoon.
The Sea Gulls (11-0) are ranked No. 1 in the International Women’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Association Poll.
SU showed why it is the top-ranked team in the nation by gaining a commanding 17-0 lead at intermission.
FSU (3-5) got on the board with goals from sophomore Lindsay Lamont (Sykesville, Md./Century) and junior Brittany Brumby (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard).
Freshman Bobcat keeper Erin Morrell (Easton, Md./Easton) picked up 21 saves in the loss.
Frostburg State returns to action on Wednesday April 5, as it travel to Seton Hill for a game beginning at 4:30 pm.
