HAMBURG, N.Y. - Frostburg State battled Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Hilbert College to a 2-2 double overtime draw, Saturday afternoon.
The Bobcats (4-7-1, 2-1-1) got on the board first, when freshman Travis Palmer (Centerville, Md./Queen Annes County) scored his second goal of the fall off an assist from junior Kenny Dotter (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point).
FSU would hold that 1-0 lead the rest of the first half as the teams headed into intermission.
At 47:53, Pat Coleman tied the game for Hilbert (3-8-1, 0-3-1) when he scored off a pass from Patrick Kane.
Less than 10 minutes later, Karl Bukowecki gave the Hawks a 2-1 edge with a goal off an assist from Tim Jordan and Dan Russell.
Dotter would tie the game for the Bobcats in the 75th minute with his team-leading ninth goal of the season. Junior Alex Wilkinson (LaVale, Md./Bishop Walsh) was credited with his first assist of the fall season.
Neither team would be able to score the rest of the game as it ended in a tie.
FSU held the advantage in shots, 23-7, while both squads had five corner kicks.
Senior Derek Richardson (New Windsor, Md./Linganore( made four saves for FSU while Adam Eaton had 11 saves for Hilbert.
Frostburg State returns to action Tuesday, October 10, when it travels to AMCC opponent Penn State-Altoona for a 7:00 pm game.
