Men's Soccer Falls to Pitt-Bradford, 3-2 in AMCC Matchup

BRADFORD,Pa. –Mike Seth scored the game-winning goal in the 74th minute to lead Pitt-Bradford to a 3-2 win over Frostburg State in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference men’s soccer action, Saturday afternoon.

FSU falls to 5-10-1 overall and 3-4-1in the AMCC while Pitt-Bradford improves to 6-7-2 overall and 3-3-2 in the conference.

UPB’s Joe Calabrese gave the host’s a 1-0 lead just 1:32 into the contest when he scored off a feed from Andrew Scolaro.

FSU rebounded to take a 2-1 lead after scoring back-to-back in the 21st and 36th minutes. Junior Alex Wilkinson (La Vale, Md./Bishop Walsh) netted his fourth goal of the season off an assist from junior Trevor Havey (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty).

Fifteen minutes later, classmate Kenny Dotter (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point) gave the Bobcats the lead when scored his team-leading 10th goal of the season off a pass from senior Steve Zoutman (Chester, N.Y./Goshen).

The game remained in favor of FSU until the 70th minute when the Panthers’ Vincent Scolaro assisted a goal by Peter Fay.

Seth gave Pitt-Bradford the win just under four minutes later when he scored off a pass from Brent George.

The Bobcats held the edge in shots, 16-10, but UPB led in corner kicks (6-4).

Sophomore netminder Jay Herford (Crofton, Md./South River) played the entire game for FSU making four saves while suffering the loss and Mike Ruffino earned the win for the Panthers after making three saves.

FSU returns to action on Wednesday, October 25 when it hosts La Roche at 6:00 pm in the regular-season finale.
