YORK, Pa. - Freshman
Kelly Filipowicz (Elkridge, Md./Long Reach) netted the only goal for Frostburg State in a 3-1 loss to York, Saturday afternoon.
FSU falls to 5-11 while York improves to 9-8.
Frostburg Sate took an early lead 1-0 on Filipowicz goal 5:20 into the opening period.
York later tied the game at 1-1 early in the second half when April McFarland netted her first goal of the day at 38:59.
McFarland scored her second goal of the day 10 minutes later to put the Spartans up 2-1.
Jami Hassler finished the scoring at 67:52 netting the final goal of the day and sealing the win for the Spartans.
York outshot Frostburg State 14-7.
Junior Amanda Runion (Leonardtown, Md./Leonardtown) played the entire game for the visitor's making seven saves and allowing three goals. Claire Rekitzke was awared the win in net for the Spartans after making five saves.
The Bobcats return to action Thursday, October 26 when they host Catholic at 4:00 pm.
