FROSTBURG, MD — Sophomore Holly Thomas netted two goals to give Seton Hill a 2-1 victory and hand host Frostburg State its first loss of the season in field hockey action Wednesday afternoon.
The Bobcats (4-1) gained an early lead when senior Heidi Zook (Elverson, Pa./Twin Valley) knocked in a pass from sophomore Brittney Blystone (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin) in the 10th minute.
Thomas scored her first goal in the 28th minute to tie the game 1-1 at the break.
In the second half, Thomas would score in the 53rd minute to seal the win for the Griffins (3-3).
FSU took four penalty corners in the last 11 minutes but was unable to convert any of them.
Senior goalie Kristin Cousin (Edgewater, Md./South River) made six saves in the loss.
The Bobcats returns to action Saturday as they host St. Mary’s (Md.) at 11:00 am.
