GREENSBURG, PA — Tiara Bennett hit a layup with 21 seconds remaining in overtime to give Pitt-Greensburg a 95-93 victory over visiting Frostburg State in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action Saturday afternoon.

Frostburg State (19-6, 16-2) jumped out to an early 12-0 lead three minutes into the game on six points from junior Kelly True (Warfordsburg, Pa./Southern Fulton). The Bobcats would open up their biggest lead of the game, 27-14, on free throws from sophomore Krystin Hargrove (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) at the 11-minute mark.

Pitt-Greensburg (18-7, 15-3) closed the first-half on a 16-6 run over the last seven minutes to tie the game at 38.

The second half saw Frostburg State control the game again as it led by as many as seven points, 62-55, on a jumper from sophomore Tracie George (Windber, Pa./Windber) with just under nine minutes to play.

UPG then scored seven straight points, including four from Tiffany Menhorn, to tie the game at 62 with seven minutes to play.

The two teams would then trade the lead nine times over the final 6:57 of the second half before Pitt-Greenburg scored on a three-point play from Bennet with 16 seconds remaining to send the game into overtime tied at 80.

UPG then took control of the game as they outscored Frostburg State 12-6 over the first three minutes of overtime to take a 92-86 lead.

Senior Tracey Little (LaVale, Md./Allegany) would bring FSU back, scoring four straight points to tie the game at 93 before Bennett’s game-winning basket.

Little scored a season-high 29 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in the loss. George also tied her season-high with 22 points, while Hargrove added 13 points.

Menhorn scored 20 points to lead five different Pitt-Greensburg players in double figures.

Frostburg State returns to action Friday when it hosts a yet-to-be-determined opponent in the first semifinal game of the AMCC Tournament at 6:00 p.m.
