FROSTBURG, Md. — Junior Amanda Griswold (Rockville, Md./Magruder) and freshman Aly Erickson (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) each scored a goal and added an assist to lead Frostburg State to a 5-1 win over visiting College of Notre Dame Tuesday afternoon.

The Bobcats improved to 8-6, while the Gators fell to 4-8.

Erickson put FSU on the board with 11:10 left in the first half when she scored off an assist from sophomore Michelle Frost (Jessup, Md./Hammond).

Erickson then fed Tawni Buck (Port Deposit, Md./Perryville) for another Bobcat goal with 3:14 remaining as FSU took a 2-0 lead at the break.

The Bobcats wasted little time adding to their advantage in the second half as Griswold collected her own rebound and scored just 1:42 into action. She later assisted on a goal by junior Talia Warsaw (Ashton, Md./Sherwood) that gave FSU a 4-0 cushion with 17:14 to play.

Sophomore Brittney Blystone (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin) capped the Bobcat scoring at the 14:33 mark as she worked her way through several defenders and blasted a shot past Gator freshman goalie Amanda Arkwright.

Notre Dame broke up the shutout with 2:23 remaining when junior Mandy Bathras took a pass from senior Dianne Abramowski and beat Bobcat sophomore Amanda Runion (Leonardtown, Md./Leonardtown).

Senior goalie Kristin Cousin (Edgewater, Md./South River) held the Gators scoreless over the first 44:02 and finished with three saves to improve to 7-6 on the year.

Runion played the final 25:58 and made three saves as well.
