SALISBURY, Md. — Senior Brittany Elliott scored two goals and added an assist to lead two-time defending national champion and No. 2-ranked Salisbury to a 5-1 win over Frostburg State Saturday afternoon.

The Sea Gulls improved to 14-1, while the Bobcats fell to 7-6.

Frostburg State kept Salisbury off the board until 3:53 left in the opening half when sophomore Kristina Holland scored off an assist from Elliott to give the hosts a 1-0 lead at the break.

The Sea Gulls then took control in the early moments of the second period thanks to Elliott, who scored just 1:45 after the break and netted her second goal of the afternoon less than five minutes later.

Junior Lynette Sgrignoli netted an unassisted goal with 11:12 remaining, and sophomore Danielle Twilley converted a pass from junior Sarah Tracey to close out the Salisbury scoring with 9:58 to play.

Frostburg State avoided the shutout when sophomore Brittney Blystone (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin) scored with 3:18 to go in the contest.
