BUFFALO, NY - The Frostburg State women’s volleyball team swept both Medaille and SUNY Fredonia Saturday, to extend their win streak to seven matches.
The Bobcats (17-4, 3-0) blanked Medaille for their third Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference victory of the season 30-23, 30-16 and 30-12.
Seniors Jodi Carpenter (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) and Lauren Petrick (Denton, Md./North Caroline) led the Bobcats with 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Carpenter also added four solo blocks.
Sophomore Amanda Hernandez (Crofton, Md./Arundel) passed out 24 assists and senior Carrie Ness (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key) had 18 assists and seven kills.
Frostburg State then blanked SUNY Fredonia 30-18, 30-22 and 30-23.
Carpenter led FSU with 15 kills, three solo blocks and a .565 hitting percentage, while Petrick smashed nine kills with a .500 hitting percentage. Junior Carly McDonald (Owings, Md./Northern) had nine kills and six service aces and Hernandez dished out 25 assists and 13 digs.
Senior Sam Seyfferth (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) collecting 23 digs on defense in both matches.
The Bobcats return to action on Wednesday when they host Mount Aloysius at 6:30 pm.
