CALIFORNIA, PA — The Frostburg State men’s soccer team closed out its regular season with a 2-0 loss to Division II California (Pa.) Tuesday.

The Bobcats fall to 10-7-2, while the Vulcans improve to 11-5-2 overall.

Sophomore Emedin Sabic scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 55th minute off an assist from midfielder Pedro Palladino.

In the 85th minute, Cal gained an insurance goal when sophomore James Kelly took a shot that was redirected into the goal off the head of an FSU defender.

Cal, which was ranked 15th nationally last week by the NSCAA, outshot the Bobcats by a 16-7 margin.

Bobcat senior goalkeeper Brandon Rethemeyer (Hagerstown, Md./Smithsburg) was credited with seven saves.
