PAINESVILLE, OH — The Frostburg State men’s soccer team tied Lake Erie 2-2 in double-overtime Saturday in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action.

The Bobcats (10-6-2, 5-3-1 AMCC) began the scoring in the second half when junior Matt Moffa (Baltimore, Md./Eastern Tech) scored off a pass from freshman Trevor Havey (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) in the 48th minute.

The Storm (7-9-1, 4-3-1 AMCC) answered in the 54th minute when Tim Basalla scored his sixth goal of the season off a Matt Villella feed.

Brad McFadden gave Lake Erie a 2-1 lead in the 62nd minute with Kevin Ankuda recording the assist.

With less then five minutes left in regulation, Moffa scored his second goal of the game and eighth of the season to tie the score. Senior Jamie Romano (Joppatowne, Md./John Carroll) recorded the assist.

Sophomore keeper Tom Sadler (Silver Spring, Md./Sandy Spring Friends) recorded five saves.

“We played a good game,” said Head Coach Keith Byrnes. “We scored late to tie it up and I am proud of our guys for coming from behind.”

The Bobcats return to action Tuesday when they host California (Pa.) at 3:00 pm.
