Football … Earned four letters in four seasons as a middle linebacker. First-team Kodak All-American in 1980 (Division II and III combined). The first Frostburg State football player to ever receive that honor. Was chosen as an alternate for the 1980-81 East-West Shrine Game. Named to the All-Maryland College team in 1979 and 1980. Voted the F.S.C. Defensive Player of the Year three times, in 1978, ’79 and ’80.
Compiled these career defensive statistics for his four seasons: 130 solo tackles and 197 assits for a total of 327 tackles; 9 quarterback sacks, 5 fumble recoveries and 4 pass interceptions.

Had a game-high 20 tackles vs. NCAA Div. III National Champion U. of Dayton. Scored a TD on a blocked punt vs. James Madison in 1978 and a safety with a sack vs. Kenyon in 1979.
