Pat Sweeney had a standout career for the Frostburg State University baseball team from 1997-2000. A four-year starter, Sweeney helped the Bobcats to 103 wins against just 42 losses. The Bobcats advanced to the ECAC South Tournament three times and twice won the AMCC Tournament Title.

One of the most prolific hitters in FSU history, Sweeney’s name appears throughout the baseball record book as he is first all-time in career home runs (30), extra base hits (79), total bases (324), batting average (.437) and slugging percentage (.783). He is second all-time in RBIs (148), third in hits (181) and fourth in runs scored (127).

Sweeney garnered numerous individual accolades as he was twice named an ECAC Division III Southern All-Star, was a three-time All-AMCC selection, two-time AMCC Player of the Year and a two-time ABCA Mid-Atlantic Region honoree.

As a junior in 1999, Sweeney set the school record for home runs in a season with 11, was ranked fourth in the NCAA in slugging percentage (.898) and fifth in batting average (.481).
