Football: One of the most revered and respected college football coaches in the country. McGlinchey compiled an overall win-loss record of 30-11-2 in his four years as Frostburg State's head coach. His overall 14-year record at the NCAA Division II and III levels was 91-49-6, including a five-year 44-11-1 mark at FSU's rival Salisbury.

Coached Frostburg State to its first NCAA football playoff berth and victory over Wilkes in 1993.

In 1994, his Bobcats made their third-ever ECAC Championship appearance versus Kean College.
