All-American … Five times recognized for this honor: Indoors – 3 times in the 55-meter hurdles (1985, ’86, ’87). Outdoors – Twice in the 110-meter hurdles (1985,’86).
National Champion … The winner of 5 individual NCAA Division III national championships: Indoors – 55-meter hurdles in ’85 (7.50), ’86 (7.37), and ’87 (7.36). Outdoors – 110-meter hurdles in ’85 (14.17), and ’86 (14.01). A leg injury prevented him from defending his 110 hurdle title in 1987.
Member of 3 F.S.U. NCAA Division III national championship teams: 1986 indoor team, and 1986 & 1987 outdoor teams.
National Record Holder … Each of his times in the 1985,’86 and ’87 55-meter hurdles set a new outdoor national meet record, twice breaking his own record from the previous year.
F.S.U. Record Holder … All three of his F.S.U. records still stood at the time of his induction. 55-meter hurdles – 7.36; 110-meter hurdles – 14.01; 4x200 meter relay – 1:25.9. Winner of the 1985 Indoor Mason Dixon Conference 55-meter hurdles.
