192nd Inductee

Jennifer Hawk, the 192nd inductee, is the only All-American in the javelin throw in the 42-year history of the Frostburg women’s track & field program and enjoyed a standout four-year career from 1987-1990.

Voted Frostburg’s Most Outstanding Thrower following her senior season, Hawk is a two-time Mason-Dixon Conference Champion, two-time ECAC Champion, and earned All-American honors in each of her final two seasons as a Bobcat.

With no experience throwing the javelin, Hawk became the Mason-Dixon Conference Champion her freshman year in 1987.

The following season, Hawk set the FSU record for the first time with a throw of 129 feet, 1 inch and was the All-ECAC Champion.

As a junior, Hawk set the javelin record again, this time throwing 133 feet to become an All-American and All-ECAC selection.

Hawk’s hard work culminated her senior season as she became an All-American for the second-straight year, as well as an ECAC Champion and Mason-Dixon champion. She broke her own school record for the second time, throwing 141 feet, 7 inches – a record that stands to this day.
