Basketball … An outstanding guard, Ed was the leading scorer in the state of Maryland in the 1941-42 season, averaging 25 to 27 points per game, the exact mark being unknown. He was invited to play in the Collegiate All-Staters. The Baltimore All-Stars in 1942. He led Frostburg to records of 14-8 and 9-8 in his two seasons.

Baseball … Statistics are unavailable but he started as an outfielder one season and at shortstop in the other. Team won the Tri-State League Title in 1941.

Soccer … In his two seasons, Ed performed exceptionally well as an outside one year and at center halfback the next. Scoring figures were unknown, but Frostburg had records of 6-0-2 and 3-2-0 in 1940 and ’41 respectively, and it is known that Ed figured strongly in those successful seasons. He left FSC to serve in World War II, and completed his education at Washington College following the war.
