Soccer … Frostburg State’s all-time outstanding scorer. He held the college’s game, season, and career scoring records at the time he was inducted. His 40 career goals (all made in 3 year period) were not only the FSC record, but were twice as many as the nearest competitor, The 17 goals Carl scored in 1969 was the all-time seasonal record; the 5 he made in one game the same year was the all-time single game record. He led the team in scoring in 1969, ’70, and ’71, delivering 17, 12, and 11 goals respectively. These 40 goals came in a 40 game period. Frostburg was the NAIA District 18 champion in 1970 and 1971, Carl’s junior and senior years.

Letters … Four letters in four seasons; Carl also played J.V. baseball as a freshman and sophomore.
